During the initial expansion phase of the game, players build the game board together, taking turns placing territory tiles to match tile border terrains and enlist forces on newly matched borders. During the second land claim phase of the game, players then remove exposed and undefended tiles, to claim high value territories.

Tile borders are the spaces that forces occupy and battle to control, capturing enemies. Border battles are decided by a dice roll with forces leveling up if a player rolls the highest value for a die. By controlling and defending borders of high value tiles, players can prevent their opponents from claiming these tiles and points.

To win the game, claim territory tiles and enemy pieces worth the most total points - or claim the Destiny Stone as your final points to steal the throne. Enlist more powerful forces by cleverly placing tiles to complete roads, castles, abbeys, towers and dragon lairs, then carefully master the odds to out-maneuver your opponents.
